Mary Kathleen was born on 21 February 1943 at the Maternity Hospital, Birkenhead, Cheshire to William PRICE, an Irish born security officer employed at the Camell Laird shipyard, and Irish born Margaret McMAHON. After leaving school in 1960, Mary joined the Air Ministry in London as a Clerical Officer. She married Trevor John TOMASIN at St Simon & St Jude, Streatham, London on 30 January 1965 - the day Winston Churchill was buried. She had two children - Karl Dominic whilst living in Croydon, Surrey, and Kirsten Lisa after they moved to Caversham, Berkshire. After the family moved to Clevedon from Exeter, Mary worked, for a short time, in Clevedon Cottage Hospital as a nursing auxiliary before returning to the Civil Service as a Clerical Officer with the Department of the Environment in Bristol. She divorced Trevor on 1 October 1985 at Bristol County Court, Greyfriars, Lewins Mead, Bristol.
